This is the monthly trading signal from The MarketFighter Strategy. Our two ETF allocations for October are now ready.

I’ve been trading the same simple strategy for more than five years with great results. Every month I get a trading signal from my model, which dictates which two ETFs I will be holding for the next 30 days.

The strategy is entirely rules-based and not affected by anyone’s opinion. Now I share every step with a growing community of rational investors in this newsletter. During September my work was shared in four other publications here, here, here and here.

If you’re just here for the trading signal, feel free to scroll down to find it! 👇

September in brief

In September, the strategy was once again allocated to the Energy Sector and the US Value Factor. Both of these positions have significantly outperformed the market since I entered them earlier this year.

Market commentators and analysts would say the month was dominated by rising bond yields, while strong corporate earnings supported the stock market. All of this is just noise in my view, and my entire focus is on following the rules of the strategy.

This month, we slightly underperformed our benchmarks and came out with a minor loss. This was mainly due to falling oil prices and a resulting decline in the Energy Sector ETF.

The strategy is still up around 33% year-to-date, outperforming the market by around 18% as I’m writing this. These numbers are measured in EUR.

As always, I’ll publish a fully updated performance report with September data and year-to-date figures within a few days after the trading signal.
