Another great month in the books
For the past five months, the strategy has been riding the same two waves consisting of the Energy Sector and the US Value Factor. When the rules of the strategy point to the same allocations for several months, it’s usually a sign of strong trends in the market.
This is exactly what we have seen. In August, we outperformed both the MSCI World Index and the S&P 500, as we have done for most months of 2026 so far. This time the outperformance was carried by both of our allocations, and not just one. The strategy has now returned around 33% in 2026 year-to-date (in EUR).
August was a relatively quiet month in terms of volatility and major market events. Monthly updates from other sources will probably dig into AI-related earnings, capex spending, and new hawkish Fed signals.
None of that matters to this strategy. It deliberately ignores the noise from media narratives and after-the-fact analysis to focus only on what I have found to work: The patterns defined by relative price momentum.
In a few days, I will publish the full performance report with updated numbers for August. This will show exactly how far the strategy is now ahead of the markets in 2026 as well as month by month.
